Hello
Just to say thanks for your dreamweaver extensions, I have been using them with DW MX2004.

I have now upgraded to dreamweaver 8 and I am sorry to find that the extensions are no longer compatable.

Do you plan to release DW 8 extensions in the near future?

Regards

Lynn

Hi Lynn,

Thanks for your feedback, I am happy you found my DW extension useful.

I have upgraded to DW8 too and the extension still works, there are some small issues but it still does a good job. I plan to release an update soon... it's just that I have been very busy and I can't find time to do it. What's the problem with yours? Have you tried to upgrade also your extension manager and then reinstall my extension? The latest version is 1.7 and you can find it at: http://www.macromedia.com/exchange/em_download/

Let me know if that resolved your issue.

Vasilis

Hello Vasilis

Thank you for your speedy reply and advice.

I eagerly installed the 1.7 extension manager as suggested. However, on install of your DNN extensions I was shown this error message: "The extensions require the following products DW MX or greater. The extensions will not be installed". Needless to say I was most disappointed.

Hi Lynn, I found this TechNote

Seems to be the same issue like yours...

For anyone else who has the same issue...

Lynn installed the extension successfully when he opened the extension manager from within Dreamweaver. To do that you have to click Commands > Manage Extensions...

Hi

Just an update on the Dreamweaver 8 extensions.

I have found that although I had problems installing them, it was worth the effort.  They have been working fine since and I have found that they are an invaluable asset.

Thanks.

I tried to install the extension through Dreamweaver as instructed above, and also through the Extension Manager by itself...but I get the error "an unknown error has occurred while accessing...." I'm running Dreamweaver MX. Could that be the problem?

No! Dreamweaver MX is not the problem...

From what I have read, sometimes dreamweaver extensions cannot be installed because the firewall or the anti-virus software prevent the installation.

Have you tried to install other dreamweaver extensions?

I am having the same problem. I have downloaded the evaluation version of Dreamweaver 8 and cannot install the DonNetNuke extension. I have tried another extension downloaded from the Dreamweaver Exchange web site and this installs without any problem, the DotNetNuke extension, installed from the same location, throws the error "An unknown error occured while accessing ...DotNetNuke.mxp.", if you click the Ok button the "Installing Extension...." dialog appears to hang.

Hello,

I am running Dreamwaver Studio MX 6.0 and I am having same issue installing extension. "An unknown error occured while accessing ...DotNetNuke.mxp." I tried to install other extensions and I was able to install other extensions without any problem.

I also updated my Extension Manager to 1.7, but no luck. Tried executing it seperatly or within Dreamwaver same result. I have even shut down my antivirus and check permision on the file and still no luck?

Any idea on what to do next?

I have forced a new release (my plan was to post it the next weeks).

This one has been packaged with Dreamweaver 8.

Find it in the downloads page.

Let me know if you have better luck with this version.

Cheers,

Vasilis

The packaged extension failed to install, same message as previously. However the unpackaged version works like a dream. Thanks.

I am really very happy about that!!!

There are some fixes and updates with this new release but I had no time to write about them.

And there are new icons of course... I hope a little better and more descriptive from the previous ones.

I hope I 'll find the time to write some things soon and then I want to continue my tutorial.

Thanks everyone for the feedback and I hope to hear your thoughts regarding things that can be better... I am not a magician though!

Cheers,

Vasilis
