Vasilis you've been able to help me with nearly every question I've asked so far so I was wondering if you or your reader have any advice as to a "some what" easy ecommerce module for a dnn beginner whose not a programmer.  I have researched many modules and have narrowed them down to Catalook, Paypal product catalogue, Shopping carts for dummies, and Expresslane store.  I plan to use the ecommerce module eventually on more than one portal.  But my main concern is that I can display at least 5 catagories with many thumbnails within each catagory and that it can be set up with out my mind exploding.  This module must intergrate easily with Paypal since I will have over 300 products for sale, it must be easy to upload new thumbnail photos and keep an inventory/search as well.  The checkout must be smooth and it's important that the customer not have to log in to the website until the time of the purchases (unless they are returning customers).  Santas lastly, it would be super cool to be able to have a watchlist like snowcovered.com where the customer could enter notes within their watchlist (but I don't have to have this feature).  In addition to the many products for sale I'd like a feature that will process a monthly fee for my customers (I could purchase a different module separately for this if necessary no combo exists).
Too I have emailed the developers of the above modules but wanted to get a response from you Vasilis and your forumn users. Thanks much!

Hey,

I was very busy last days and I couldn't make it to email you...

To be honest my experience with DNN store modules is limited! I know that there are a lot of posts at the DNN - asp.net forums regarding this topic... If you have some time try a search there.

BTW I have done some work for a one or two stores when I asked to create Catalook templates. I can't say that got satisfied from the flexibility and the result.

Also I heard that the new Portal Store has been rebuilt from scratch and has many cool features but I have no experience.

Don't know why but I have a feeling that DNN still lucks of a really good e-commerce solution.

So last month I made a research and I found the AspDotNetStorefront e-commerce app which seems to be a complete and nice solution... Not a DNN module though!

I have got the trial and read some of the documentation. I plan to use it for a client's store very soon so I 'll keep you posted.

Hey Vasilis,
Seeing the above post is a little old now; what has your experience today with e-commerce and DNN shopping carts are for today's date?

Kindest Regards

~Mark

Not much really!

As you can see, I use the PayLoadz service to sell my Premium Skins. I find it simple and quick.

Regarding DNN stores, what I read and sounds really interesting, is that Will Morgenweck from ActiveModules is now the Project Lead for the DotNetNuke Store Module (read more) which is a good thing and may bring some good news in the near future.

About the other commercial store modules there are available on snowcovered.com, CATALook seems to be popular but I have no experience so I can't say anything more.

Cheers
